Maureen Lester

Maureen found her passion for elder law when she experienced the long-term care journey with her grandparents. She has focused her entire legal career on advocating for older adults and individuals with disabilities since graduating from UMKC School of Law in 2014. Maureen spent seven years in private practice, and most recently, another few years as a Special Needs Trust administrator. She brings these experiences to providing elder law, Medicaid planning, and special needs planning services at her firm in Kansas City.

Jim Wolverton, J.D.

As the Director of Legal Education, Jim is responsible for creating, curating, and promoting educational content related to the estate planning and elder law industry. Jim has several years of experience educating attorneys and helping them easily implement elder law tools into their practice. Since the dynamic of the elder law industry is constantly changing and the need for more elder law attorneys continues to grow, Jim is driven to use his knowledge and passion to educate attorneys. Jim is a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys (NAELA) as well as the Colorado, Utah, and Florida Bar Associations (inactive).
